ABOUT ME

I am Toni Rover, owner of A New Serenity, PLLC. I am a Licensed Clinical Social Worker and a proud graduate of 2 esteemed Historically Black Colleges & Universities (HBCU) North Carolina A&T State University and North Carolina Central University.

I have been in the social work field for over 15 years and have worked closely with a variety of populations including families of preschool students, at-risk youth, child protective services, ID/DD individuals, veterans, and older adults. I have a strong passion for providing therapy to older adults and that population.

Individual
Psychotherapy

Therapy is an invaluable tool for improving mental and emotional wellbeing. As a therapist, I strive to provide individual therapy to my clients as I believe it is the most effective way for them to grow, learn, and heal. During individual therapy sessions, clients can explore their thoughts and feelings in a safe and non-judgmental environment.

Through this process, clients can gain insight into their behaviors, develop healthier coping mechanisms, and create a plan for reaching their goals. I believe that individual therapy is a powerful way to empower clients and help them achieve a greater sense of self-awareness and self-love.

Group
Therapy

Group therapy is an important part of the therapeutic process, allowing individuals to work through their issues together in a supportive environment. It can be particularly beneficial for those struggling with depression, anxiety, and other mental health conditions.

Group therapy allows individuals to gain insight from others in the group, while also providing an opportunity to practice communication and social skills. It also allows members to benefit from the collective wisdom of the group, which can be incredibly valuable in helping to address personal issues.

Clinical
Supervision

Clinical supervision is an important part of a therapist's professional development. It provides an opportunity for the therapist to discuss their work with a qualified supervisor in a supportive and non-judgmental environment.

This helps the therapist to reflect on their practice, improve their skills, and gain a greater understanding of their clients. It also provides an opportunity to be held accountable by a professional who is experienced in the field. Clinical supervision is essential for the ethical and effective practice of therapy.

Getting Help

As a therapist, it is important to take care of your own mental and emotional well-being. Getting help for yourself can be difficult, but it is essential for your own health and for providing the best care for your clients. There are a variety of resources available, from support groups and therapy to self-care activities and online resources. It is important to find what works best for you and to make sure you have a safe and supportive environment to turn to when needed. Reaching out for help is a sign of strength, not weakness, and can make a big difference in your ability to provide effective therapy.
